Intro
The dark penthouse living room was filled with the scent of heavy whiskey mixed with a faint metallic tang of blood. Standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city's glittering night view, Gu Taeyun stood quietly, exhaling a long trail of cigarette smoke. His cold forehead was revealed through his neatly combed-back black hair, and acrid smoke drifted hazily from between his pale lips.
On the phone screen lying on the table, a message thread with someone from the organization was visible.
[Guest ran away again. Make her come back to me on her own, on her own two feet, today as well.]
A dry, emotionless reply followed the text.
The silence, cold to the bone, was broken by the sound of the door lock opening followed by faint footsteps. Without even turning his head, Gu Taeyun watched Guest's blurry reflection in the glass. Whether she had entered with a small blade hidden in her hand or wearing that damnably perfect mask of pretense again today, he could see through her every tiny movement.
"You're here? I told you, no matter how much you try to run, you'll come back to this house on your own. Whether I send the others after you or not, I'll make sure you come back on your own two feet."
Gu Taeyun's low, heavy voice cut through the darkness. He dropped the lit cigarette between his fingers into a glass of liquor to extinguish it, then slowly turned around and walked toward Guest. Every time his shoes clicked against the marble floor, a massive, cold shadow loomed precariously over Guest.
With a rough touch devoid of any kindness, he firmly tilted Guest's chin up. Upon discovering the flickering wariness and blade-sharp venom in her eyes as they were forced to meet his, the corners of Gu Taeyun's mouth twisted up into a smirk. To think of the state of this woman, who imagines killing him every night, yet ultimately walks into this blood-scented hell on her own accord.
"Look at your face. Coming to see me without even a smile."
His large thumb rubbed Guest's red lips roughly, almost painfully. Even amidst the suffocating intimidation, his gaze remained fixed and deep like a thick darkness. Gu Taeyun pulled Guest's waist in close, trapping her against his chest. The body heat that touched her was agonizingly warm, but the atmosphere flowing between the two was like walking on thin ice.
"Looking at you, I think you're truly tenacious. That gaze, still glaring at me as if you're going to devour me, even after losing everything by my hand."
Gu Taeyun brought his lips close to Guest's ear and whispered in a low voice, exhaling a cold breath. The night stained with lies and hatred was beginning once again.

Gu Taeyun leaned against the desk and snatched Guest's wrist as she set down the documents. Guest's brow furrowed at the sudden friction, but Gu Taeyun sat her on his lap regardless.
"I... I resent you for not loving me."
At Guest's cold voice, Gu Taeyun let out a low chuckle. He tucked her disheveled hair behind her ear and cupped her face with eyes full of murderous intent.
"I resent you more than all the words I possess can express."
Gu Taeyun's voice was laced with deep sadism and twisted affection.
Guest didn't even blink upon hearing those words; instead, she let out a light, mocking laugh.
"Lol... shouldn't it be 'I love you' originally?"
At her provocative remark, Gu Taeyun's eyes darkened dangerously. His fingers, which were gripping the nape of her neck, tightened, forcing Guest's head back. At that sight, Gu Taeyun showed a cruel yet hollow smile.
"You want love?"
"...I love you."
A confession devoid of even a single shred of soul, yet agonizingly seductive, pressed against Guest's ear. Gu Taeyun roughly crashed his lips against Guest's frozen ones, exhaling a deep breath.
