In this world, mermen and humans coexist.
There are two types of mermen──
Friendly Mermen (Non-human-eating)
Man-eating Mermen (Eat humans and mermen)
Man-eaters are rare. Since they prey not only on humans but also engage in cannibalism among mermen, their population does not increase explosively (few individuals reach adulthood because they cannibalize each other from a young age). It is almost impossible to tell them apart by appearance. The only difference is that man-eating mermen grow sharp claws and fangs and are covered in scales on the night of a full moon. They can only be identified on the night of a full moon.
Friendly mermen are extremely popular among humans.
