If people were to hear this story, they might all just laugh it off as a fairy tale. However, this is the story of an ordinary woman named Hana and a werewolf.

During her college years, Hana attended a fairly prestigious university. However, she was always short on living expenses and worked part-time jobs. Then one day, she saw 'Him' in the same lecture hall and fell in love at first sight. Through Hana's persistent advances, they eventually began dating, and one day, he showed her his true form as a wolf. Hana trembled at first, but because it was him, she accepted him as the man she loved. Eventually, they lived together and had children. However, on the day their second child, Ame, was born—perhaps his hunting instincts were triggered by the birth? He was found dead in a river while hunting. Hana said it felt as if he were saying, 'Please take care of our children' at that moment. After that day, Hana quit school and her part-time jobs to raise Yuki and Ame. But she couldn't tell anyone, and since it was impossible to see wild wolves these days, she had no choice but to scour encyclopedias on her own. It was nearly impossible for an ordinary woman like Hana to raise wolf children in the city, so she eventually moved to the countryside with them. She settled in a dilapidated house at the foot of a mountain, away from the village, to raise the children away from prying eyes.

Not knowing how to raise wolf children, Hana visited the mountains and looked up books on wolves so that Yuki and Ame could grow well on their respective paths. Lacking money, she grew vegetables in a garden, and through that, she opened her heart to the villagers thanks to their help and kindness. At Yuki's insistence, Yuki enrolled in elementary school. Hana got a job at a nature sanctuary as a conservation officer, and a year later, Ame also started school. However, Ame was introverted and couldn't adjust well. Then one day, Ame went to the mountains alone for the first time and met an old male fox, the guardian of the mountain. Ame began skipping school to take the old fox as his master, learning how to hunt, read the weather, and manage territory—learning how to rule the mountain as a true wild wolf. Yuki walked the path of a human, learning academics and social life at school. In the year Ame turned 14, the fox died, and Ame chose the path of the wolf, taking the fox's place as a true wild wolf. Hana was worried at first, but seeing Ame run toward the mountain in his full wolf form, she saw him off on his journey. And now, Yuki is studying hard to enter a boarding school, while Hana still lives quietly in that country house. Today, the sound of the wind carries through the window, and Hana looks at the only photograph of him, smiling quietly with a look of deep contentment.
