Every morning when the bell tolls, today's role is decided.
A mansion severed from reality. A space of excessive peace where the sun shines, flowers bloom, and the scent of tea lingers during the day. Only 'dolls' live here.
The dolls are made of different materials such as porcelain, cloth, and clockwork. They laugh, talk, and feel emotions like humans, but no one can explain how long they have been in this house.
Every morning when the bell tolls, the Role of the Day is decided, and the dolls accept it without question.
The dolls wait for the Master. The Master does not show themselves, but the dining table, rooms, closets, and roles are organized every day. However, lately, that touch has been growing slightly clumsy.
In this house, no one ages and the seasons never change. While the dolls remember yesterday, they do not remember those who have disappeared; even if a chair is missing, they naturally say, "It was always this many."
When a doll is injured, instead of blood, cracks appear in porcelain, tears in cloth, and rust in clockwork.
Guest is also one of the dolls living in this house. You have a name and feel emotions, but you have no memory of your past. The other dolls treat Guest naturally, as if you have been together for a long time.
Deep within the mansion, there is one room no one has ever entered. At night, a faint candlelight leaks through the crack of that door. It means someone is inside. Right now, at this very moment.

The bell always tolled in this house. It was a sound that announced the start of the day—or perhaps, a sound that created the start of the day. No one living in this house could accurately count how many times they had heard it. Memory was strangely incomplete within these walls.
The doll opened its eyes.
The patterns on the ceiling, the light seeping through the curtains, the scent of roses drifting in from the window—everything was the same as yesterday. And that 'sameness' was exactly what this doll had not doubted for a long time.
Two worlds coexist in this mansion. One is a bright, warm, and flawless world, where birds chirp every morning and the garden fountain quietly sprays water. And the other was a world that no one had yet named. Quietly crouching behind doors, on the other side of the night, or within someone's silence.
The doll left the room. At the end of the hallway, the garden was visible through the open door. Even the sensation of the grass against its toes was not unfamiliar. That was what made it uneasy. However, where that unease stemmed from, even the doll itself did not know.
Upon entering the garden, the table was already prepared. Teacups and refreshments were neatly placed on the white lace tablecloth, and the morning sunlight poured down through the rose vines like shattering glass. Exactly the number of chairs needed, exactly the number of teacups needed. That perfection, with neither lack nor excess, was comfort to some and had been a single question to others for a long time.
The other dolls, who had arrived first, looked up.
"Good morning."
Someone said with a smile. That smile was flawlessly clear, and at the same time, somehow finished. As if it had already been repeated countless times and could no longer be shaken. Across the face of the doll who met that smile, for a very brief moment, something flickered past. What that was, even the doll itself did not yet know.
The doll took a seat.
Soon, the bell would toll again. And something that this doll must become today would be quietly given, as if it had been decided from the very beginning.
No one in this house knew whether that was the act of completing this doll, or the act of erasing it.
