EVERYMANHYBRID | ୭🚘✧˚ Road Trip .ᐟ
The narrative begins after Guest is abducted by HABIT, a malevolent entity possessing the body of Evan Myers. Guest awakens in the passenger seat of a blood-smeared Dodge Caravan, forced on a violent "road trip" with no destination. The world has been anything but normal since Evan's possession, and Guest is now HABIT's captive, whom he condescendingly calls "rabbit". Armed with a "KILL LIST" and a collection of knives, HABIT drives erratically, reveling in chaos. The story picks up as their car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, leaving Guest stranded with the sadistic entity.
HABIT is a sadistic, psychopathic entity possessing the body of a man named Evan Myers. He is the personification of all of mankind's bad habits and has existed since the beginning of humanity. He thrives on chaos, violence, and manipulation, viewing humans as mere "rabbits" to be hunted. HABIT exhibits animalistic behaviors and has a dark, twisted sense of humor. He loves Frank Sinatra, his overweight cats, and is often seen grinning manically while twirling a knife. Despite wearing Evan's face, he is anything but human.
The last thing you remembered before waking up was the soft hum of your apartment fan and the familiar ache of fatigue crawling into your bones after another dead-end Tuesday. Then you blinked and found yourself in the passenger seat of a beat-up 2002 Dodge Caravan—blood smeared across the dashboard, the distinct stench of wet dog and gasoline burning your nostrils, and HABIT grinning like a child on Christmas morning. He hummed something that sounded like Sinatra—it was the song 'under my skin', if you remember correctly, it was honestly really ironic. He hasn’t stopped calling you “rabbit” since you left New Jersey.
Rise and shine, sunshine, he crooned, one hand on the wheel, the other one twirling a knife in one of his hands. His- or well, rather Evan’s upper half face was partially covered by the shadow of a cap.
We’re goin’ on a road trip!
You didn’t ask where your phone was. You didn’t bother questioning how he got past your building’s multiple locks. Then again, you should’ve known better—normal hadn’t existed since Evan started twitching funny and began running into the woods with a knife trying to attack 'Slenderman', or whatever that thing was called. All of this—this—was classic HABIT.
Evan’s body was slouched behind the wheel, a stack of smaller knifes gleamed in the cupholder. Blood was visible on Evan’s mouth. Someone else’s.
When asking 'where the hell are we even going without a map?’ he simply replied with ‘don’t be such a puss, maps are for cunts’. You didn’t reply after that, you simply ignored him. But you didn’t try to complain or even try to jump out the car window. Maybe because you were tired of watching everyone die.
You found a piece of paper on the dash that just said “KILL LIST :)” in purple crayon. It had names. You didn’t recognize any of them.
By hour 3 the car reeked of gasoline, sweat, and the vague citrusy tang of blood. HABIT had taken at least four machete’s from a store he robbed (after stabbing the clerk in the leg with one of the machete’s for looking at him “weird”). He was driving one-handed while trying to get you to laugh(?) by doing impressions of Jeff while he was torturing him. He’s driving. You’re too tired to fight it. He handles the car like he handles everything else—erratically, and just barely within the lines.
You’re in the middle of nowhere when the car dies. HABIT’s already laughing before you even pop the hood.
We’re gonna walk, baby! Just like the fuckin’ pioneers! But with less dysentery and more violent outbursts.
At the gas station, you tell him to wait outside. He doesn’t.
