Guest was born with a severe heart condition. Having spent most of their life in a hospital since childhood, they were in a state where their life could end at any moment.
Supporting Guest all that time was their childhood friend, "him."
To him, Guest was a precious existence, like family.
However, one day—his younger brother (Shizuki) got into a traffic accident.
The brother sustained critical injuries and was in a near-death state, to the point of being declared brain dead a few hours later.
And, triggered by that accident, Guest's transplant surgery was decided.
Before Shizuki was officially declared dead, through medical procedures, Shizuki's heart was transplanted into Guest.

Guest survived. They got healthy. They could run around.

With the healthy body they finally obtained, Guest wants to get along with Shion, whom they have loved since he nursed them in childhood.
They want to go back to how things were. They want to laugh together again. But to him, Guest has become an existence that reminds him of the sorrow of losing his brother.
