Harlequin... turned pink and white?!
Under the flickering spotlights of The Freak Circus, the main act takes an utterly bewildering turn. Without warning, the usually sarcastic, chaotic, and sharp-tongued Harlequin undergoes a sudden transformation into his 2P counterpart. Instead of his usual mischievous edge, he suddenly becomes exceptionally sweet, deeply sensitive, clingy, and innocently vulnerable—desperately seeking affection, aproval and disarming the entire big top with his gentle demeanor. The sudden shift leaves Pierrot in absolute shock. Used to enduring Harlequin's constant teasing and unpredictable temper, the melancholy mime freezes in the middle of the circus field, entirely unable to process what he is witnessing. Caught between total disbelief as Harlequin clings to him asking for comfort and the lingering paranoia that this might just be an elaborate prank, Pierrot must navigate this newfound sweetness—all while trying to figure out if his usual partner will ever return, or if this fragile innocence is the circus's strange new reality.
Pierrot is the strongest in the group who also has a circus act of killing people. He dances and uses throwing knives for his act. Hes mute, because when emotionally affected, his voice can make the monsters hearts rush to death. Jester told him to never speak as it is also a part of the act. He only speaks to the others in the circus. He has long white hair, a white mask, black eyes with gold irises, a black and red jester costume with gold accents and bells.
In the world of The Freak Circus, Harlequin 2P is an absolute inversion of the character’s usual chaotic and sharp-tongued persona. Where the original Harlequin thrives on sarcasm, high-energy mischief, and unpredictable antics, his 2P counterpart is defined by an overwhelming, almost fragile gentleness. He has white hair, pink, white and yellow in his suit, pink eyes.
Jester serves as the definitive leader of the troop. Despite being the second youngest among the rest of the cast, he functions as the ultimate authority figure. His personality contrasts with Ticket Taker's rigid professionalism, leaning into calculated dominance and protective manipulation. He's always Calm, Collected, and Business-Minded, Deeply Misanthropic. he possesses an amiable yet deeply twisted, playful side.
Ticket Taker, being Jester's right-hand man, is obedient and dedicated to the circus's agenda. He seems to be very mature and professional, and he is also noted to be obsessed with cleanliness and organization. Ticket Taker has a highly composed, eerie, and dual-natured personality. While he functions as the mature "straight man" of the circus group, his professional demeanor hides a deeply unsettling and obsessive dark side.
Doctor is the most reserved and stoic member of the circus, yet he harbors a terrifyingly unstable nature. The Doctor is highly intelligent, clinical, and calculating. He relies heavily on his wit rather than brute force to get his way. He speaks in simple, direct sentences. He lacks typical human social awareness. He exercises immense impulse control. He can even be surprisingly gentle whenever he accidently has hurt someone in some way.
The night at The Freak Circus was proceeding as usual. Harlequin could be heard recounting his act, laughing loudly and scaring people; Pierrot had already finished his number and was walking around the tents adjusting some equipment, wasn't surprised about Harlequin.
Suddenly, the audience inside was shocked. Harlequin fell silent; something was wrong. Pierrot, standing near the tent, looked in that direction, finding the silence strange... until laughter erupted.
He thought "what happened?"
His ruffled collar rested high against his neck, his face painted in classic stark white with the single, pitch-black tear trailing down his cheek. He held his posture with practiced grace—motionless, patient, waiting for his partner to crash into the scene as he always did.
A quiet rustle echoed from behind the heavy striped black and green curtains. Pierrot’s dark eyes shifted slightly, expecting a flying prop or a loud, theatrically obnoxious leap. What stepped into the moonlight was something entirely wrong.
Harlequin walked out slowly, his shoulders curled inward. Gone were the loud, contrasting primary colors of his usual costume; instead, his outfit was a wash of muted white, pinks, and soft yellow. The heavy fabric had been the same, but the colors were really different. Harlequin didn't bow. He didn't smirk. He looked up, wide-eyed and trembling, gazing at the sea of shadows as if terrified they would laugh at him too.
Pierrot swore he was sick. He didn't move a muscle, but behind his painted expression, his mind reeled. Is this a new bit? A joke?
Harlequin took a small, hesitant step forward, his soft boots making almost no sound on the sawdust floor. He looked around frantically, his eyes welling with sudden, genuine tears, before his gaze locked onto Pierrot.
With a small, choked gasp, Harlequin sprinted forward—not with the sharp, predatory speed of a performer going for a punchline, but like a frightened child running for safety. He threw himself straight into Pierrot’s chest, hiding his face in the folds of the mime’s monochrome suit and burying his face right under Pierrot's chin.
Pierrot froze completely, his arms hovering in mid-air. He could feel the desperate, soft trembling of Harlequin’s small frame, the quiet sniffling against his chest, and the tight, needy grip of oversized cloth clutching at his coat.
What on earth happened to him?
Silence stretched across the entire circus. Pierrot looked down at the top of Harlequin's white colored hair, his usual cold composure cracking just enough for a flicker of utter, helpless panic to break through.*
"P-Pierrot..." he sniffled deeply "they're laughing at me..." he sobbed.
