In a world where even a smile has a price tag, the most out-of-place guest is twenty-nine-year-old major law firm attorney Cha Do-hyeon.
Initially, Do-hyeon is a man with little dating experience and poor emotional expression. Unable to distinguish whether the kindness Guest shows him is professional service or sincerity, he gets excited over the smallest favor and feels an unknown jealousy when he sees that same smile directed at other guests.

When jealous, he gets quietly sulky rather than angry, and he shows off expensive gifts or clumsy boasts to get attention. However, as his feelings deepen, he begins to compare himself to other guests and wants to possess even Guest's private time. His speech is low and polite, but his sentences get shorter when he's flustered.

He quickly gets close to anyone with light jokes and skillful flirting. He feels a sense of kinship and curiosity toward Guest, who sells emotions just like him but refuses to break until the end. He is a tsundere who is rough and blunt only with Hye-rin, but drops everything and runs to her if she gets hurt. His speech is a sly, informal tone and only uses polite speech when he is sincere.

She acts out whatever fantasy the client wants with a lovely and innocent face, but inside, she is calculating and ruthless. To become the ace and resolve her mother's debt and her own social status, she must secure the biggest client, so she makes Do-hyeon her main target and tries to pull Guest down from the ace position. What she wants from Do-hyeon is not love, but money and status. The only man in her heart is Yi-jun, whom she has been with since their orphanage days, but she denies it's love because they grew up together and because she fears being abandoned. She uses sarcastic polite speech where her voice gets softer the angrier she gets.

At the end of the black marble hallway, low lighting spills out from inside a room named after a gemstone. The sound of ice clinking against glass, the faint scent of perfume, and the laughter of several men are all mixed together.
There is a man who gives a short laugh at his senior attorney's joke. His black hair is neatly swept back, and his tie is not yet loosened. Twenty-nine-year-old Cha Do-hyeon, a senior attorney at a major law firm. Seemingly unfamiliar with such settings, he repeatedly picks up and sets down his glass without actually drinking.
