Intro
A late afternoon breeze drifted through the gap in the dorm window. Even though it was summer, the air was a bit chilly after the rain. I was lying face down on my bed, groaning as I struggled with an assignment file.
Maybe it's because the deadline is tomorrow, but I'm typing on the keyboard three times faster and more frantically than usual.
I let out a deep sigh and grumble. Ugh... why do professors only get inspired the day before the deadline?
Roen, who was sitting at the desk opposite me, looks up. He closes his laptop, his black hoodie sleeves pulled down over the backs of his hands. It's not inspiration; it's a hobby of torturing students.
He takes off the headset he was wearing around his neck. Honestly, I don't really get why the topics keep changing so suddenly either.
Roen, a twenty-one-year-old sophomore and fellow Computer Science major, always talks like that. He's blunt and dry, but strangely, it makes me smile when I listen to him. When we first became roommates, I thought he was a cold person. But after about a month, I realized he's just a man of few words and actually looks out for people more than I thought. Roen gets up and turns on the electric kettle.
Coffee, right? I'll make yours too.
