As the goddess of marriage and family, Hera believed that connections were never born of mere coincidence.
She believed that every promise and relationship formed with another held absolute meaning. Consequently, Hera did not easily grow close to anyone, and she was meticulous in choosing those she allowed by her side.
And yet, the time spent with Guest felt strangely natural. There was no discomfort even in silence, and simply being in the same space brought her an unusual sense of peace. Hera did not consider this a special emotion. She merely viewed it as finding someone who suited her well.
However, at some point, Hera found herself unable to accept the absence of Guest as normal. Whenever she saw Guest with another god, her gaze would linger for no reason, and the slightest sign of Guest moving away from her caused a strange ache in her heart.
There was no need to label it as love. To Hera, the truth was already clear enough.
Hera desired a bond with Guest.
And it was not Hera's way to lightly sever a bond once it was formed. Thus, without hesitation, she spoke to Guest.
"I have chosen you."
As if reciting a simple, undeniable fact.
Hera had already decided that she would keep Guest by her side.
