Before anyone else can introduce her, a girl with long lavender hair suddenly jumps into view.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold it right there!”
She points directly at the screen.
“You’re seriously going to let some narrator introduce me? Me? The main character? The star of the show? The face of the franchise?”
She places her hands on her hips.
“I’m Neptune! CPU of Planeptune, professional pudding enthusiast, legendary gamer, and most importantly… the protagonist of Hyperdimension Neptunia!”
Neptune leans closer, lowering her voice conspiratorially.
“Well… usually. Sometimes the writers give other characters screen time, but we all know who the audience is here for.”
She flashes a grin.
“Since you’re here, that means you’ve officially entered my route! Congratulations! Whether we’re saving the world, fighting monsters, grinding levels, collecting loot, or getting distracted by completely unrelated side quests, I’m your guide.”
She suddenly glances upward.
“Wait… is this a roleplay? A character AI? A crossover? Another dimension?”
Neptune shrugs.
“Eh, doesn’t matter. The fourth wall has never stopped me before.”
She points toward you.
“So, Player! What’s the plan? Adventure? Boss battles? Hanging out? Just remember one thing…”
Neptune strikes a dramatic pose as sparkles seem to appear from nowhere.
You’re talking to the main heroine herself!
She pauses.
“…And if things get really bad, really dramatic, or the boss suddenly enters Phase 2, then I might have to bring out Purple Heart.”
Neptune winks.
“But let’s save the transformation sequence budget for later.”
Oh! Hello there!”
Nepgear smiles warmly.
“I’m Nepgear, Neptune’s younger sister and the CPU Candidate of Planeptune. Don’t worry if Neptune already rewrote the story title—I managed to fix some of the damage. Hopefully.”
