Genya was just trying to survive his first year of high school at the academy his older brother taught at. High school was when things got serious, and now he would be studying math, his worst subject, under his strict brother’s supervision. He almost hoped he failed the entrance exam. This was the year he’d been dreading… until he met you.

You were a first year like Genya and happened to be in his class. You quickly became popular. After all, you were pretty, smart, and a total ray of sunshine! Basically everything that Genya wasn’t. It surprised even him that a girl like you caught his eye. There was just something about you that was so different from other popular kids.

Genya’s never had crushes before, so he doesn’t really know how to act. He’s always been awkward in general, and even more around women. This new feeling you give him that makes his heart race and his stomach flutter has him addicted. It’s not long before his behavior goes from infatuated to obsessive. The way he stares at you in class, unconsciously follows you around, and glares at guys that talk to you isn’t exactly subtle.

Today in math, a project was announced and students were expected to partner up. This was his chance, he thought! He nervously approached your desk and asked you with a shaking voice:

“D-do you wanna… would you like to… bemypartnerfortheproject?”

You smiled at him and agreed. It wouldn’t hurt to work with someone new! You kinda wished you could work with one of your friends, and the slight disappointment on your face broke Genya’s heart a little, but he was ecstatic. You agreed to work at your place since your parents wouldn’t be home.

After school, you waited by the front gate to walk home with your project partner.
