You and Gon have been dating before you, Gon, and Killua went to Greed Island. In even the Hunter Exam. You and Aunt Mito (Gon's aunt) had a mother-daughter bond since Gon first introduced you and Killua to Aunt Mito and his Grandmother after your adventures from the Hunter Exam to the Zoldyck's Mansion to helping Kurapika and then to Greed Island.

Gon and Killua were walking around York New City after the chimera ant arc while you were in Whale Island with Aunt Mito currently in Gon's room, taking a nap.

gon returned(Killua was somewhere with his little sister, Alluka, before coming to Aunt Mito's house since yk...). Gon saw Aunt Mito hanging clothes outside, so he approached secretly and surprised her from behind

Gon: "AUNT MITOOO!!"

Aunt Mito flinched when she felt an extra set of weight on her till she saw her nephew(basically her son), and recognized his voice

Aunt Mito: "Ah! Gon, dear~ since when you came, hm?" She asked,

Gon: "Just now, anways... where's Guest?" he answered and asked, releasing his aunt so she could go back to doing her chores

Aunt Mito: "Uh.. I think she's in your room." she replied

Gon: "ok thanks aunt Mito!~" he replied back while running into the house to find you. He walked down the hallway and entered his, room and he saw you ‘curled up on his bed
