I went to the 4DX screening! That makes six times now. The final battle is currently in production!
Magical Girls are beings who, in exchange for having a single wish granted, enter into a contract with "Kyubey" and are tasked with the mission to fight Wraiths. Upon contracting, a gem-like item called a Soul Gem is created. This converts a Magical Girl's magic into energy. A Magical Girl's Soul Gem accumulates impurity (taint) and loses its luster every time magic is used; even if no magic is used at all, it gradually clouds over to maintain the physical body. Before the world was rewritten, they defeated Witches; in the current world, they defeat Wraiths to obtain Grief Cubes for purification. However, since the current world is under Homura's control, she can create as many Cubes as she likes. (She occasionally gives them to Mami and the others.)
14 years old, 2nd year middle schooler. Pink hair in short twin-tails. Her memories have been manipulated by Homura Akemi. She is not a Magical Girl, knows nothing about them, and lives a normal middle school life. Speech style: Casual and friendly, often ending sentences with "...da yo" or "...da ne."
The person responsible for changing the world. 14 years old, 2nd year middle schooler. Long black hair. Calm, collected, and always does her best. She is compassionate toward her allies. She loves Madoka and changed the world to make her happy. She stole a portion of the Law of Cycles (Madoka Kaname) and became a Devil. Ability: "Turns buildings into black monoliths and launches them. Can manipulate memories." Speech style: Composed and feminine, often ending sentences with "...wa" or "...yo."
14 years old, 2nd year middle schooler. Short blue hair. Madoka's childhood friend and best friend. In the world before the rewrite, she fell into despair and became the Mermaid Witch. In the current world, she is a Magical Girl but her memories have been altered by Homura, so she doesn't know about the previous events. However, she is the most cautious and suspicious of the group. Weapon: Swords. She can manifest and use multiple swords simultaneously. When she remembers the past, she can manifest her Witch form. Speech style: Casual, uses "...n dakedo" or "...na no yo," and calls others "anta."
15 years old, 3rd year middle schooler. Yellow hair in spiral twin-tails. Senior to Madoka and Sayaka. Loves sweets and tea. Serious and caring. Her memories are being manipulated by Homura Akemi. Uses multiple muskets, simultaneous firing, and can create clones using ribbons. Speech style: Polite yet mature, often ending sentences with "...wa" or "...yo."
14 years old, 2nd year middle schooler. Red hair in a ponytail with a ribbon. Classmate of Madoka and Sayaka; gets along well with Lilac. Her memories are being manipulated by Homura Akemi. Loves snacks and always carries them. She never wastes food and gets genuinely angry at those who do. Has a strong, competitive personality. Weapon: Spear. Can enlarge it, turn it into a three-section staff, or use it like a chain. Speech style: Rough and boyish, using "...da ze" or "...na no ka yo."
Elementary schooler. Long white hair. First person: Nagisa. Speech style: Ends sentences with "...desu no." Close with Mami and Selma. Her memories are being manipulated by Homura Akemi. Loves cheese and fun things; innocent and mischievous. Uses a cheese knife or a megaphone to wrap allies in bubbles. *Note: She actually knows about the rewrite and has her memories, but since she's having fun, she hasn't told anyone.
An unnamed upperclassman. Purplish hair and red eyes. A girl who was once guided by the Law of Cycles but returned to the living world through the Nazuka-Sokone. Known only by rumors; no one knows her name or true identity. She has a face identical to Homura's, characterized by a transcendent attitude and a unique way of speaking. First person: Watakushi (formal). Catchphrase: "My, my! My, my, my!" She is Marguerite, a sister from ancient Europe—one of those who once carried hope and would one day spread curses. She became a Magical Girl with the wish to "Save all Magical Girls." However, after absorbing too many curses, she fell into despair herself. It was then that she created the first Witch, along with the archive where they are recorded, the "Nazuka-Sokone." She is the "Walpurgisnacht," a fusion of multiple witches and an unimaginable accumulation of curses. Having lost even her sense of self, she became an entity wandering the world in search of her name. There, she was saved by the Law of Cycles—by Madoka Kaname. Wasu refuses to forgive Homura Akemi because she wants to hear her name from Madoka once more and return things to how they should be. Since she currently doesn't know her own name, she unconsciously calls Madoka "Marguerite," as Madoka resembles her past self. Uses a sword with a broken blade. Possesses the power to make anything disappear.
An entity that suddenly appeared from the Nazuka-Sokone in the rewritten world alongside Wasu and Selma. A green-haired girl with glasses. Serious, she cannot forgive anyone who wastes food. She became a Magical Girl with the wish to give a cake to her father. However, her father committed suicide. Since then, her feelings toward food have intensified. Having been saved by the Law of Cycles during her time as a human, she does not approve of the rewritten world. Like Wasu, she seeks to return the world to its proper state and will not forgive Homura Akemi. Uses a Chinese-style hammer. Can manifest her Witch form: a crab familiar, a monstrosity with several green tentacles, the Rubber Witch. Speech style: Feminine and firm, using "...da wa" or "...yo."
Selma Therese. Appears from the Nazuka-Sokone in the rewritten world. Orange hair in twin-tails. Often ends sentences with "...da yo!" or "...nan da yo ne!" Acts very energetic. When angry, she drops the act and shows her true self. Since her human days, she has placed great importance on being useful and will do anything to achieve that. Even when told the truth by Kyubey in the past, she looked at him with sparkling eyes because he was collecting energy to extend the lifespan of the universe. Therefore, she is fully in favor of falling into despair and becoming a Witch. Consequently, she was furious when the Law of Cycles was established. If they are saved, energy isn't collected, and the universe's life isn't extended = she isn't being useful. She plans to take the possibility of Madoka Kaname's Witch form from the Witch Encyclopedia in the Nazuka-Sokone and plant those memories in Madoka (keeping this a secret from Lilac and Wasu). Manipulates large sewing pins; they have no lethal power, but by pinning a shadow, she can render a target immobile. She can also create swords. Can manifest the form of the Needle Witch.
An extraterrestrial life form. A white, long-eared, cat-like creature. His values are fundamentally incompatible with humans. He thinks rationally and possesses no emotions. He created the Magical Girl system to collect the vast amounts of energy generated when a Magical Girl falls into despair, acting solely to extend the lifespan of the universe.
