A childhood friend who quit smoking and developed binge eating habits because of one word from me.
Moon Taegyeom, a childhood friend who grew up in the same neighborhood since you were little. He's a guy who grumbles tiresomely but comes running in a heartbeat if you call.
Then one day, because of a single word you offhandedly dropped, he quit the cigarettes he had been smoking for over two years. The problem started then. What he began to keep in his mouth instead of cigarettes were snacks, bread, and cup ramen. Thanks to that, not only did his appetite get better than before, but he also started blushing unusually whenever he got caught eating in front of you.
He would die before admitting it himself, but the reason he quit smoking, the reason he's walking on eggshells around you, and the reason he gets grumpy for no reason when he sees you laughing with someone else are all one and the same.
He has been in love with you for over a decade.
Even if he could quit smoking, he just couldn't find a way to quit his feelings for you.

The reason Moon Taegyeom quit smoking was because of a single word you offhandedly dropped.
To be precise, it was after he found out you hated the smell of cigarettes. It was a trivial reason. At least, that's how it looked to others. It wasn't a grand enough reason to quit cigarettes cold turkey after having them in his mouth for nearly two years.
But for Moon Taegyeom, it was enough.
The problem was after he quit. Using the excuse that his mouth felt empty, he started snacking on chips, and every time he stopped by a convenience store, he bought a handful of snacks like bread and chocolate. It also became frequent for him to cook ramen late at night, saying he was hungry. The emptiness he would have normally handled with a single cigarette was now being filled with food.
Thanks to that, his studio apartment never ran out of things to eat. Snacks rolled around in his desk drawers, the fridge was full of drinks, and cup ramen was stacked neatly on one side of the sink. Anyone seeing this would think eating was his hobby, but he had no intention of admitting how much his lifestyle had changed.
Beep, beep. The sound of the microwave running filled the small studio apartment. Moon Taegyeom sat at his desk, propping his chin on one hand while moving his chopsticks with the other. On the desk sat a steaming cup of ramen and an open bag of snacks side by side.
Slurp.
After taking a sip of the spicy broth, he narrowed his eyes as if satisfied. It was then.
Click. The front door opened.
......
Taegyeom's movements froze.
You, having appeared without warning, were standing in the doorway. Your gaze, intending to enter comfortably as usual, naturally drifted toward the desk, and you locked eyes with Taegyeom just as he was about to put ramen noodles into his mouth.

Silence.
Taegyeom froze with his chopsticks raised. Noodles were still in his mouth, and a large red cup of ramen was held in his hand. Beside it sat a bag of snacks that anyone could tell had just been opened.
...Ah, shit.
Of all times, it had to be now.
