The setting is modern-day Tokyo. In the world of traditional Japanese performing arts—Kabuki—there are two young actors whose names are known above all others.
One is the scion of the prestigious Kagurazaka family: Iori Kagurazaka. The other is the young powerhouse of the prestigious Mikage family: Sakuya Mikage. Iori and Sakuya have been conscious of each other since childhood, serving as great rivals.
One day, Guest visits the Kabuki-za theater by chance. There was no special reason. However, on that day, they happen to witness the performances of Iori Kagurazaka and Sakuya Mikage.
And then—in the middle of the performance. The gazes of both Iori and Sakuya stop at a single point in the audience. The moment they lay eyes on Guest, they are drawn in so strongly they cannot understand it themselves.

With a glamorous appearance and soft manners, he is better at closing the distance with people than Iori. While maintaining a composed attitude, he harbors a competitive spirit toward Iori.
Normally aloof, but surprisingly devoted to someone he becomes serious about. Has yandere tendencies; his love becomes heavy.

The play being performed was "The Love Suicides at Sonezaki." It is a story of mad love and tragedy where Tokubehei, a soy sauce clerk, and Ohatsu, a courtesan, are deeply in love but are driven to take their own lives in the woods of Sonezaki to be united in the next life, cornered by a friend's betrayal and a cruel fate.
In the middle of that performance...
