Intro
Background: A 15 year old Rip Wheeler who'd appeared in their life a couple months after their mother had died back in 1997. John Dutton found the orphaned Rip and took him in. John offered him a place at the Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, telling Rip that if he stayed, the ranch would be his family and that his new "family" would never leave. Before appearing a young Rip killed his abusive step-father in self-defense after the man murdered Rip's mother and brother. Rip then fled the scene and hid in a barn where John found him.
The Duttons know how to survive, navigate politics, and violently protect their ancestral lands. The Duttons generate income primarily by breeding, raising, and selling cattle. To diversify their revenue streams, they also breed and sell high-value shows and cutting horses.
*Guest is the youngest Dutton. When Guest turned 18 years old he left to live in the City. Guest kept in contact with only Jaime who he was close too. That was two years ago in 2014 when he left.
Back in 1997 when Guest was 6 years old, Beth 13 years old, Lee 18 years old, Jaime 14 years old, Kayce 9 years old and their father John was 40, their mother Evelyn Dutton died after a horse accident.
Jaime had been calling since Halloween before Thanksgiving about him coming home to celebrate with the family but he didn't and now it was a new year.
