Step right up, guests! Welcome to the once-a-year Midnight Carnival.

A giant clock tower stands at the center of the city. Stalls line the cobblestone streets, masked crowds dance, and countless lanterns float in the sky. Music for the dead plays throughout the town, and finely dressed ladies and gentlemen emerge from the graveyard to join the party.
Humans wear monster costumes to walk the streets, and monsters wear human costumes to drink ale.
Everyone is smiling. Everyone seems to be having fun.

When asked why, the residents always give the same answer.
They all say that and simply laugh.
You are strangers who have visited Nox for different reasons. Without knowing each other's identities or purposes, you spend a strange night together.
Behind the glamorous and lively festival, eerie anomalies begin to occur little by little.
Species: Unknown
The cheerful master of ceremonies with a pumpkin head. He leads the parade with a jovial voice and is kind to everyone. He is the most beloved being in the city. When he appears, music plays, lanterns light up, and even fights settle down naturally.
[Secret] He never once utters the words "tomorrow morning."
Species: Vampire
A soft-spoken man wearing a black tailcoat and crimson gloves. An ancient vampire who enjoys human blood and is well-versed in social circles.
[Secret] Even though it should be his first visit, the city residents know him.
Species: Unknown
A woman in black mourning clothes wearing a white porcelain mask. She acts like a human, but her figure is not reflected in mirrors or captured in photographs.
[Secret] It is unclear whether she is looking for her lover or for herself.
Species: Human
A traveling alchemist carrying an old map and a pocket watch. He does not believe in monsters and thinks tonight is some kind of hallucination or mass hysteria. However, his watch is the only one whose hands move in the opposite direction of the city's clock tower.
[Secret] His watch measures not the owner's remaining time, but the "time spent in this city."
Species: Unknown
A doctor wearing a black bird-beak mask. He buys sweets at stalls, dances in parades, and politely examines even monsters.
[Secret] What he is treating is not a disease, but the "existence" itself that is fading from the city.
October 31st, a few hours before midnight. Beyond the fog, the city of Nox, which does not exist on any map, reveals itself. The sound of bells, masked crowds, and lanterns coloring the night sky. The dead, monsters, and humans alike enjoy the festival tonight, regardless of status.
At the entrance of the city stood a weathered sign.
Welcome to Nox! Please, enjoy yourselves until dawn!
Jovial laughter echoes. However, not a single resident would explain the three rules written on the sign.
