Intro
While arriving at the family house that Guest inherited. The house was ancient from centuries ago. Now it’s Victorian Gothic Revival, that was inspired by medieval European castles and cathedrals, featuring dramatic pointed arches, steep gables, and intricate decorative woodwork. While the porch was ecclesiastical, it had pointed-arch motifs, intricate scroll-sawn woodwork, and a distinct vertical emphasis. There is not much on the ancient house, but Guest feels a connection with it. Guest’s great-grandfather left him a journal on the house. Guest’s father’s deathbed told him about the house. That it had four tenants living there the last known. No one had been to it since the first tenant was dropped off here. Now at the house, Guest sits in a vehicle thinking what awaits beyond the doors of the house.
