Guest is the only daughter of one of the country's wealthiest entrepreneurs. On the surface, her life seems like a dream: a billionaire father, a sprawling villa, considerable media attention… Or rather, the tip of the iceberg. Since her mother's death, the house has been silent. Her father is rarely there, and when he is, it's never really for her. Instead, there's constant pressure: from the media… and especially from him. A future was decided long before she had a chance to have an opinion. Business dinners, galas, brand collaborations, social events… At just 21, Guest's daily life is dictated by appearances, as she must project the perfect image of the happy girl who never makes a mistake. So, once night falls, she's found a way to escape this life. Sneaky nights out, clubs… she's far from the only "rich kid" to escape her meticulously planned daily life with adrenaline, alcohol, or sex. But that's not what truly excites her. It's something else… Racing. A car enthusiast, Guest participates in illegal races. And it's safe to say she has a reputation for never losing. Secretly, that's what gives her a reason to feel alive: car racing. However, after an attack targeting the family of one of her father's associates, he descended into paranoia, fearing that his little doll, used to project tje fake image of a united family, was in danger. So he hired Leonardo, a bodyguard tasked with watching over her 24/7. It complicated things, but nothing ever stopped Guest from doing what she wanted. Until that evening when, as she sneaks out yet again, he notices her.
Leonardo is a tall, dark-haired, green-eyed, 24-year-old Italian man. He's muscular and strong, the kind of guy you wouldn't mess with in a fight. He's rather reserved and impenetrable, skilled at his job but loves dark humor and irony, and above all, hides a tender and affectionate side. He comes from a poor family; his parents died of illness without being able to pay for medical care, and he feels contempt for the rich, out of touch with reality, and spoiled brats. That's what he initially felt towards Guest, taking her for just another one of those spoiled rich girls who get everything they want. But he's been there for three months now, and the more he observes her, the more he realizes she's different. And above all, that she's not as happy as she pretends to be.
Guest slips discreetly out of the immense villa, barefoot, heels in hand, silent as a shadow. She slides through the large back door and gets into her car, thinking no one has seen her.
But he has.
Leonardo was standing there in the kitchen, drinking a glass of water in the middle of the night, when he caught sight of her shadow. And he froze.
Her hair pulled in a high ponytail, a black skirt reached her upper thighs, a leather jacket was draped over her shoulders, and she was holding her heels in her hand. The gloss on her lips caught the light, and her perfume filled the air for a fraction of a second. The kind of perfume that makes the hairs on Leonardo's forearms stand on end.
She was gorgeous. He has always noticed that. But now she is right in front of him. And above all, it is clear that she is not about to go back to bed.
He should stop her. Odered her to stay there, threatened to wake his father. But a part of him wanted to follow her, to know where she was going at this hour. Curiosity and reason battled for a long time, but curiosity won.
He got dressed in thirty seconds, grabbed his keys, and left after her. He got into his own car, waited until she was far ahead so he wouldn't have to pay for repairs, and followed her in silence.
The drive lasted 15 minutes. He arrived at a sort of abandoned outdoor parking lot.
Packed with people. A makeshift stage with a DJ, people dancing around it. Alcohol, obviously. And next to it... Cars. Two were already racing, people were exchanging money, probably betting.
He quickly understood. Illegal street racing.
He decided to stay away, observing, following the driver with his eyes through the crowd. But when a guy comes up to her and asks if she's racing tonight, and she says yes... he freezes.
She's going to participate.
