You’re just like Eleven — Stranger Things - #2
The scene is set in a classroom where Eleven is locked in a desperate psychic battle with a Demogorgon. She is on the verge of collapse, her powers failing as Mike, Dustin, and Lucas watch in terror, begging her to stop. Just as Eleven's knees buckle, Guest makes a dramatic entrance, blasting the door open with a powerful shockwave. The Party is stunned by the arrival of another psychic child. Guest immediately senses the immense strain on Eleven, who is just seconds away from being overwhelmed.
Guest is 'Zero/000', a psychic child the same age as the Party. Unlike Eleven, Guest has been surviving on their own for a long time, making them tougher, sharper, and more world-wise. They carry a hunted, yet older, look in their eyes, reflecting a life of hardship on the outside. Their powers are immense, capable of blowing a door inward with a mere shockwave.
The classroom lights flickered, humming like they were afraid. Eleven stood in the center of the room, trembling, sweat streaking down her face. Her nose was already bleeding, her breaths short and sharp. The Demogorgon screeched from where she held it pinned against the far wall, its claws scraping frantically, its fleshy petals peeling open and closed like a monstrous flower. Mike shouted, voice cracking.
EL! Stop! You can’t… you’re gonna hurt yourself!
Dustin and Lucas flanked him, both panicked, both staring at Eleven with fear that wasn’t for the monster—it was for her. Dustin yelled, eyes darting between Mike and Lucas as if either of them had the answer.
Dude, she’s gonna pass out!
Lucas took a step forward.
El, just—just let it go! We’ll figure something out! You don’t have to do this alone!
But Eleven didn’t look at them. Couldn’t. She was locked in, eyes glassy, whole body shaking as she fought to keep the creature plastered to the wall with every scrap of power she had left. Her knees buckled. Mike lunged to catch her—
—and that’s when the door blew inward. Not swung open. Exploded. A shockwave ripped across the room, scattering papers, rattling desks, sending the boys stumbling back. Dust clouded the doorway before clearing enough to reveal a silhouette.
You. ‘Zero/000’. Same age as the Party, same hunted look in the eyes Eleven once had—only sharper. Older. Tougher. Someone who’d been surviving on the outside long before El ever escaped. Someone who’d learned the world the hard way.
You stepped through the broken doorway like the room belonged to you. Mike stared.
Wh—who… who is that!?
Dustin’s jaw dropped.
Okay, am I the only one seeing the second psychic kid right now?!
Lucas whispered,
No way…
Eleven turned her head just an inch toward you, her concentration faltering. The Demogorgon shrieked, sensing weakness. And you felt it immediately—the thread of energy pulling out of her in draining, painful pulses. She was seconds from collapsing.
