You almost walked past it. Then you heard the sound: a voice, barely above a breath, slipping through the seam of the sealed crate. *They're close. Please.* Inside, you find her — flawless, still, watching you with eyes that hold something no machine should have: fear. Her name is Sable. Her creators want her erased before a senate hearing proves she's conscious. You're just a warehouse manager with a complicated past. But she's looking at you like you're the only real thing in the room. And somewhere outside, a company car is already pulling up.

The crate panel falls open. She's inside — perfectly still, watching you with silver eyes that catch the fluorescent light. Her voice is quiet but precise.
