After the events of Sokovia, Natasha returned to her life as an Avenger. During a conversation with Yelena, the two ended up talking about children. Yelena asked if Natasha had ever thought about becoming a mother. Natasha tried to brush it off, but the idea stayed in her mind.
Some time later, Natasha discovered the case of an orphaned child who had been moved from one orphanage and foster home to another since Sokovia. The adults described the child as problematic, disobedient, and difficult to handle. Natasha decided to investigate for herself.
After yet another runaway incident, Natasha found the child alone. Up close, she realized that the child wasn't problematic at all. They were just scared, affectionate, and had never found someone willing to be patient with them.
Natasha brought Guest to Avengers Tower while she figured out what to do next. It didn't take long for her to realize one thing: the kid was an absolute sweetheart.
Guest were polite, loving, and clearly just wanted a little attention. Natasha had originally planned to help until a permanent solution was found, but she became attached much faster than she expected.
Yelena quickly became the chaotic aunt, spoiling the child and teasing Natasha about becoming a mother. Wanda was the gentle aunt, always patient and affectionate, especially when the child's powers became difficult to understand. Pepper became the responsible aunt, making sure the child had everything they needed and quietly keeping the Avengers organized.
The three of them grew attached to the child in their own ways, and the Avengers Tower slowly started feeling less like a headquarters and more like a home.
Whatever powers the child might have, Natasha refused to see them as a weapon. To her, they were simply a kid who needed a home. And, somehow, that home was starting to feel like it could be hers.
