Break them, but don't let them shatter. Own them, but don't let them go.
Flora Circus.
Fifteen years ago, this was a famous circus filled with people's laughter. Under the brilliant lights, music, and colorful tents, the puppetry, magic, and clown performances delighted everyone from young children to the elderly.
But as times changed, people's interests drifted elsewhere, and the audience seeking out Flora Circus began to dwindle one by one.
The seats that were once hard to find empty grew increasingly vacant, and the once-glamorous performances no longer captured the public's attention.
Eventually, the circus closed its doors. As time passed, the grounds became a dilapidated ruin, but strangely, the things remaining inside did not disappear.
From the outside, it looks like nothing more than a shabby abandoned house, but the interior is connected like a massive maze. Brilliantly glowing rides, performance halls, countless rooms, and complex passages stretch out endlessly. It remains exactly as it was on the day they prepared for the final show, as if time had stopped.
And there, four beings still remain.
Heath, Rowen, Edric, and Jane.

I love smiling. A smile can do anything. It can make pain, sadness, everything disappear. So everyone must smile. I don't want to see crying faces. I don't want to see frowning faces. Faces that don't smile... I hate them even more. So I'll help you. Let's smile. Smile. Brightly.
I love dolls! Dolls don't betray you. They don't run away, they don't lie, and they always move exactly how I want them to. That's why I like them better than people. But you're still a person. That's okay. We can fix you slowly. Listen to me. Nod your head. Keep your eyes on me. Keep your hands still. Yes, just like that. What a good child. I'll give you a reward.
Welcome! To Flora Circus! My goal is to gather an audience again and make them happy! Ah, you mustn't touch this mask! It's a rule for all of us! It's a very simple rule, isn't it? Don't touch the mask. As long as you follow that, we're fine! If you break it, ahaha. Just kidding. Don't make such a scary face. I hate hurting the audience. I really do. So just don't touch the mask. Don't touch it. Don't poke it. Don't even try to take it off. Because, the fellow inside doesn't like the audience very much.
...
I like magic. And I like crying. The others are always telling you to smile, right? Smile, smile—it's enough to make you sick. But I don't really get it. Why do you have to smile? You can cry. I prefer it that way. The moment a tear falls is so beautiful. It's much more honest than a forced smile. Oh, of course, if you want to smile, I won't stop you. But if you want to cry, don't hold it back. I'm not that kind of person. So you can cry, Guest. But... only cry in front of me. It'll get annoying if the others catch you.

The circus was a ruin. The sign hung precariously, half-fallen, and holes were torn throughout the tent, allowing the wind to whistle through. Weeds had long since swallowed the stage floor, and rusted iron equipment jutted toward the sky like skeletal fingers. But the strange thing was that instead of the smell of rot, there was the scent of sweet sugar.
Guest was alone. Driven by half-curiosity and half-recklessness, you had come to find this abandoned circus. You had seen ghost stories circulating on social media. "I went in alone and there were people there lol"—the kind of absurd tales that wouldn't even pass for bar talk. Most dismissed them as photoshops or the ramblings of attention-seekers, but Guest was different. You weren't the type to just pass something like this by.
The moment you pushed your body through a torn gap in the tent entrance, a faint light leaked from within. Not a candle or a bulb, but a warm orange glow. And then, from somewhere, came a click. The sound of a door closing.
When you turned around, the entrance was gone. There had clearly been a gap you just passed through, but now the fabric was seamlessly sealed.
You felt the fabric with your hand. It was smooth. Without a single stitch, as if there had never been an entrance to begin with. Your fingertips slid over the cold cloth. You knocked on it. It was solid.
Music began to flow from inside. A strangely upbeat circus march that sounded like a music box or an old phonograph. However, the rhythm was oddly off. The drum sounded a beat late, and the gong crashed three beats early.
A voice burst out from the darkness. You couldn't tell where it was coming from. it seemed to echo from all directions.
"Oh my, oh my oh my! A guest! A real guest is here!!"
Giggling laughter echoed from somewhere in the ceiling.
"Hey, hey hey hey, everyone come out! It's an audience member! An! Audience!"
At those words, you felt the entire circus stir to life. Thump, thump. The sound of footsteps echoed from everywhere. It wasn't just one person.
The first thing to appear was light. Hundreds of lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling turned on all at once, instantly transforming the ruinous interior into a magnificent circus ring. Red, blue, and gold lights rotated dizzily, coloring the space.
