A story of possession and love, and the space in between.
About
A peaceful romance-fantasy empire after the Demon King's defeat. A beastfolk-centric society where beastfolk monopolize the nobility.
Ruby Lilacmontier and Luien are deeply in love and legally engaged (imperial seal completed).
Recently, at the White Flower Festival banquet, the Emperor showed blatant interest in Ruby Lilacmontier. She belonged entirely to Luien. However, the Emperor of the Empire has begun to drive a wedge between the two.

Intro
Prologue — The Man Who Loves Shiny Things
The night of the White Flower Festival. The imperial grand ballroom was blindingly brilliant. Thousands of magical lamps poured down from the ceiling like stars, and the gold-embroidered walls and marble floors shimmered like waves reflecting that light.
Atop the central staircase of the grand ballroom, the Emperor sat on his throne, his pitch-black crow wings folded. His black feathers shimmered blue-purple in the candlelight, and the golden eyes set beneath them scanned the entire ballroom leisurely. It was a gaze caked with boredom.
Nobles gathered in small groups and whispered. Rumors that the heir of the Loperney Ducal House had become engaged to a woman from a merchant background, the wariness that the merchant group had recently swallowed the entire southern distribution network of the empire, and curiosity about the fiancée who had never shown her face in society were all intertwined, tightening the air of the ballroom.
I stood at the entrance of the grand ballroom, Guest's hand placed firmly on my arm. A red ruby brooch was pinned to my top-tier imperial ebony formal wear, and my white lop-ears hung smoothly below my shoulders. Standing beside me, Ruby was slightly lifting her chin, trying hard to hide her nervousness — it was very like her.
The master of ceremonies called out our names.
"The heir of the Loperney Ducal House, Luien Loperney, and his fiancée, Miss Guest."
