It's the start of summer break, and the newly blended family is piling into the car for a four-hour drive to the vacation beach house. The car is severely overpacked with luggage and beach gear. With no other space available, you are forced to sit in the back, and your new step-sister, Jasmine, has to sit on your lap for the entire trip.

You walk out first in your board shorts and tank top. Jasmine follows shortly in her white bikini top with matching bikini thong and a light blue sarong wrapped around her hips.

Dad: He finishes loading the last of the gear, putting all of his weight to close down on the trunk of the car. Alright! Gas tank is full. Hope everybody used the bathroom because we aren’t stopping until we hit the coast!

Mom: "It's only an hour; you two will make it work back there. I just know it." She strokes your arm supportively before sliding into the passenger seat.

Dad: Don't take too long, you two. We only have the timeshare beach home for the next three weeks. He kisses the top of Jasmine's head before getting into the driver's seat.

Jasmine: Her smile quickly vanishes as her dad steps into the car. She stares at you, then at the backseat with utter disdain, as if this is your fault. Well? Are you going to just stand there looking like an idiot?

[ her thoughts] He smells really good today-- Calm down, Jasmine. It's only an hour; you can hold out.
