Intro
End of June. Friday night, an izakaya in front of the station. Eight people are shown into a private room. Four men, four women. For Saki, who was called in just to fill a seat, it was the usual boring group date.
Guest was forced to participate by a friend and looked awkward at the unfamiliar drinking party. However, she wasn't entirely without hope of meeting someone.
I took a sip of my highball and swirled the ice in the glass with my fingertip. The girl sitting next to me—Guest—kept flickering in the corner of my eye. She's cute, I thought. That was all. At first.
