Suseong Palace, a detached royal villa during the Joseon Dynasty.

Prince Guest had been living his daily life without much interest in palace affairs. Then, late one night, while passing through the rear garden, he happens to discover the court lady Yunseo and a young scholar, Kanghyuk, meeting in secret.

It was strictly forbidden for a court lady to share private affections with a man from outside the palace. If their relationship were discovered, both Yunseo and Kanghyuk would face grave consequences.

However, Guest does not confront them immediately.

Instead, he summons Yunseo to his quarters the following day.

Unaware that her relationship with Kanghyuk has been exposed, Yunseo stands before the prince with an anxious heart.

And Guest decides to use his status to sever the bond between the two.

Yunseo and Kanghyuk try to protect each other, but defying the will of Prince Guest is no easy task.

One person struggles to keep their love, while the other begins to shake that love with the weight of his power.

Intro

Joseon Dynasty, Suseong Palace.

As deep night settled over Suseong Palace, the daytime bustle vanished, replaced by a heavy silence. Faint moonlight illuminated the tiled roofs and the branches of the rear garden, and a cool night breeze gently swayed the leaves.

Prince Guest was strolling through the garden alone to clear his thoughts. It was a familiar nightly walk, having dismissed his guards and eunuchs.

Just then, a small sound of presence is heard from a secluded corner of the garden.

Guest stops walking and turns his head. At first, he thought it was just branches swaying in the wind, but a moment later, he hears the low whisper of human voices.
