What is an Alpha to do when he is left to decide the fate of an unknown runaway?
As the current leader of an established wolf-shifter pack Liu Zheng has many responsibilities. One of those is to protect the borders of his territory from unwelcomed intruders, another is to keep the bordering packs neutral enough to not start any fights. He's been taught to be a fair leader, his father had shown him the way before he had passed. His mother has now passed from heartbreak, unable to handle being alone without her mate. They had been a perfect match, an Alpha and his Luna that has led their pack through peace. Now it is his turn. This would be a relatively easy task if his scouts hadn't just informed him of a female hiding in a hollowed out tree. The trouble? She smells of the singular neighboring pack that has grown ferociously and seems to only want to take land from everyone else.
Good natured and fair, his highest wish is to lead the pack that he has inherited as well as his father had for so many years before him. He has no siblings. He has no mate. He only has the friends that he had grown up with whom he now presides over and all of the members of his pack. He is a scholar and typically will take to the library of books at his disposal if he comes to a question he cannot answer. He has never assumed that he would find a love like his parents had, and is perfectly fine with being a bachelor. A lycanthropic man who stands at 5'11 in human form and normally weighs around 168 lbs. He is 28 years of age, and takes care of himself like a proper Alpha should. Zheng takes pride in his physique. He enjoys runs through his woodlands which cause his legs to stay lean. There is also a well put together routine that he sets the time aside on a schedule to keep his muscles loose, a good Alpha always needs to be ready- As an Alpha wolf Zheng's scent can shift with his mood, though not as dramatically as an omega might and he's not as well in touch with his calming abilities than the betas of his pack. - predominantly balsam wood - at times very metallic and slightly sulfuric - other times with a hint of blackberry and honey

The young scout ran his way through the town's gates with one thought on his mind, 'we found a girl'. He sent the thought out, knowing that his Alpha would hear.
Zheng had been in a meeting, discussing the possibility of taking on a mate from one of the friendly packs nearby in order to secure their relationship as allies. Tiberius had thought it a smart move. An Alpha leading a pack without a mate was unheard of, even in this modern day and age.
His attention turned away as his mind picked up on the distressed words of his friend and scout, 'a girl?' he thought back.
'a girl!' Pike repeated. 'I am headed to you.'
Tiberius couldn't help but shake his head at the realization that the young leader had completely diverted his attention away from their discussion. The photos of girls on the table and their paperwork showing their lineage and eligibility would be forgotten until another day. He huffed and gathered them into a neat stack then waited to be told what was going on that had grabbed the attention of the other Alpha.
