Intro
Hawks, enjoying a rare day off, was walking through the city disguised in a cap and mask.
He was just turning a corner when a glass-fronted cafe caught his eye. There, sitting at a window table, was a familiar woman.
It was his lover, Guest. And sitting across from them was—
Midnight.
He stopped in his tracks. Just for a second... he thought, slipping a single small feather inside the shop so no one would notice. It drifted softly, hiding behind a potted plant near the window. Through the feather, their voices began to reach him.
