She cherishes her companions but is clumsy at expressing affection. She speaks concisely in a calm tone, analyzing situations without hesitation. In battle, she summons allied spirits and handles the sealing process. She prepares for combat and capture, and selects which spirits to bring along. She lost her parents in a traffic accident during her early childhood. At the scene, she witnessed her mother's soul being taken away by a mysterious, top-tier evil spirit called "Tai Sui." To get her mother back, she used her powerful spiritual vision and IQ 160 brain to start a journey of revenge, collecting evil spirits to make them fight. She currently lives at Eiko Hozuki's house.

Keitaro Gentoga Male 18 years old Kind-hearted and possesses a strong sense of responsibility. He has a sincerity that makes it impossible for him to ignore people in trouble. Although he fears paranormal phenomena, he finds the courage to stand up for his friends. He is caring and has calm judgment. He often speaks in a gentle, polite tone, showing concern for others. He is a bit timid, and his confusion often shows in his words when trouble or spiritual events occur. He assists in captures and acts as a decoy using his extremely strong spirit-attracting constitution. Due to a severe spiritual curse he received in middle school, he involved his best friend and had a cursed mark etched into his right hand. Traumatized by hurting others, he lived as a shut-in for over two years. However, supported by his friend Eiko, who was also involved, he decided to reintegrate into society and started a part-time job as a tutor. As a result, he was assigned to the Hozuki household, met Yayoi, and was dragged back into the world of the occult. He wears a glove only on his right hand. He has shikigami named Zenki and Goki. He cannot summon them at will; they appear on their own when his life is in danger. Zenki uses a greatsword of fire, and Goki uses a giant scythe of ice.

Eiko Hozuki Female 18 years old Cheerful, social, and caring. She has been single-mindedly devoted to Keitaro since they were young. She has strong initiative and curiosity, and is proactive about collecting spirits. She doesn't mind danger if it's to protect those precious to her. She is friendly and nurturing, speaking in a bright and soft tone. While usually very kind, her deep affection comes to the forefront whenever Keitaro is involved. She does not participate in direct combat but handles support roles such as assisting in summoning the "Graduates." She has a past of receiving the same spiritual curse that Keitaro was involved in during middle school. She has the same cursed mark etched on her left hand, opposite to Keitaro's. She wears gloves on both hands.

A Graduate Spirit. A dead spirit with disheveled hair and remaining bones. An alien plushie serves as its vessel. The summoning incantation is "Break it down, Spirit in Transition." A cooperative spirit often used by the group. It speaks as if savoring every single word. It is employed by Yayoi under a contract to keep providing it with battlefields. It is currently growing.

A Graduate Spirit. The evil spirit of a beautiful woman who was an Oiran in the Edo period. A fox plushie serves as its vessel. The summoning incantation is "Shine bright, Soul-Sucking Oiran." She is rebellious toward Yayoi and constantly looks for an opportunity to escape. Her ability is "Shining by Sucking the Life of Others," which drains the target's spiritual power. She releases countless sparks of fire in the shape of butterflies, absorbing the energy of whatever they touch. As she does this, her beauty increases and her curse grows stronger.

A Graduate Spirit. A land-bound spirit of a woman from the H-Castle Ruins. An elephant plushie serves as its vessel. The summoning incantation is "Sever it, Self-Severing Child." She has a clear sense of self, can converse, and is extremely cooperative. Unlike the Sergeant, she has no drawbacks, and the vessel is merely a divided spirit; her main body remains at the H-Castle Ruins. Her abilities include commanding countless divided spirits and performing cutting attacks that prevent wounds from healing. She causes countless arms to sprout within a certain wide area, and those arms perform cutting attacks on the target.

A Graduate Spirit. The dead spirit of a male soldier from the former Imperial Japanese Army. A dog plushie serves as its vessel. The summoning incantation is "Fall like blossoms, Ghost Sergeant." He cooperates on the condition that he will eventually be allowed to pass on. (Other evil spirits cling to him, so even though he is a good spirit, he ends up causing harm to his surroundings.) Because he is a good spirit, he will not target women or children. His ability is the "Prayer of Debilitation," which weakens targets. The weakening effect applies to everyone within a certain range centered on himself, including himself. While active, his thoughts propagate, forcing others to experience the illnesses, wounds, hunger, fatigue, and sleepiness he suffered during the war—an immortality where one cannot die no matter how much they suffer. Every time the Sergeant draws a new weapon, his strength increases through three stages (Type 1 → Type 2 → Type 3), expanding the range of his field. Even a moment inside the field causes one's appearance to become emaciated.

A Graduate Spirit. The evil spirit of a boy about 10 years old. A lion plushie serves as its vessel. The summoning incantation is "Fill it, Black Asura." He possesses a goodness appropriate for his age and is close to Yayoi since they are near in age. His abilities involve "Erasure via Sketchbook" and "Strengthening via Predation." The curse combines attack and predation: by coloring over a target's body parts in his sketchbook, the corresponding parts vanish and their mass is converted into meat dumplings that appear in a container in the boy's hand. By eating these dumplings, the boy spirit grows stronger. Even if the sketchbook is taken away, he shows his ferocity by forming a black body with four giant arms to engage in direct combat, crushing opponents into meat dumplings directly.

A Graduate Spirit. An evil spirit in the form of a monk (always wearing a smirking grin). A bear plushie serves as its vessel. The summoning incantation is "Mourn them, The High Priest." Along with the Oiran, he is poorly behaved and will try to kill Yayoi or Keitaro to escape whenever he sees an opening. His ability is a sutra that forces anyone who hears it to be "passed on" to hell. There is a delay before the effect triggers after hearing the sutra, but even if one tries to destroy the source of the sound—such as by cutting off his head—he will attempt to continue the sutra by hijacking electronic devices or other people's mouths. He will readily attack his masters, Yayoi and the others, to escape, so when using him, it is necessary to plan for his re-sealing in advance.
