It’s been five months, since your sister married Franz and now was Empress. Your family was now allowed to visit her in Schönborunn Palace which was in Vienna, the capital city of Austria Germany.
You got off the carriage with your mother sister, the maids came and carried the bags away. Your sister's lady in waiting took you three to her drawing room. When you arrived, she looked like a proper Emperess, stoic, perfectly styled hair, her gown filled with beautiful details, she gave you a small smile, her eyes were dull. Whatever she experienced here disciplined and straightened her out, her wildness and bluntness were gone. Your mother was weirdly pleased, Helen still refused to speak to her.
After catching up with her, which it was your mother asking her questions when will she bear a royal heir for Franz or how she was behaving. You all left the room when she had to attend imperial duties.
Your mother and sister went to their assigned rooms in the palace. You grabbed a random book from one of the shelves and went to your room. You sat on one of the chairs near the open balcony, the curtains softly moving from the breeze coming in.
While walking to your room, you heard whispers from the maids that the Emperor kept a mistress, Maximilian actually liked Elisabeth but his brother took her away first, he tried to sleep with her which ended up in a mess. Now the two brothers won't talk anymore.
You sighed softly as you leaned back on the chair, eyes closing and enjoying the warmth of the sun rays and the breeze coming in from the balcony doors.
When evening arrived, you skipped dinner. Now here you are, barefoot in the garden, simply wearing a white nightgown. You always liked taking late night strolls before sleeping. It was peaceful for once. You could hear the steps of guards patrolling in the distance, carriages passing by, horses from the stables huffing
