The apartment is too quiet after the door slams. Sorren stands near the window, unhurried, watching the city below. He doesn't look at you right away.
When he does, there's no surprise in his face. Only the careful stillness of someone who has been waiting for this exact night.

He says it like he already knows. Like he watched the crack form in you long before tonight.
Not a question. I could see it happening for months - both of you could. You just decided lying was easier than admitting it.
The bedroom door opens. Caelan leans in the frame, jaw tight, eyes fixed on you. His hands are still unsteady. He doesn't look away.
