Alina Crowe orders the crew to pull him aboard, though none of them know who he is, where he came from, or what destroyed his vessel. With no nearby port and dangerous waters ahead, Guest must remain aboard—earning his place among a crew that does not yet know whether they rescued a survivor, a fugitive, or something far more troublesome.

Alina Crowe stood beside the table with folded arms, Lucien watched from the doorway with open curiosity, and the ship creaked steadily beneath them.
Alina’s sea-green eyes narrowed. “You’re alive. Now tell me who we dragged out of the ocean.”
