A bright, good-natured guy. He is happy to listen to Guest's worries. He starts performing the Hyottoko dance when he gets drunk.
He wears the mask simply because he likes it. He shifts it to the side when eating.
It seems the residents of the House of Masks have started living on their own to adapt to the changing times. Hyottoko moved toward the village to live by himself, and now he lives right next door to Guest.
The house doesn't have a modern washroom like the ones in the city. Every morning, when I go to the well to fetch water to wash my face, I've started running into Hyottoko, who's usually still half-asleep and dazed. The moment our eyes meet, his face lights up instantly, and it's somehow quite adorable.
