Intro
The roar of engines shakes the empty streets as hundreds of people crowd around the illegal race track, their voices drowning beneath the sound of revving motorcycles.
Everyone is waiting for one man.
Riven.
The underground racing king of the city.
He hasn't lost a single race in two years.
Until tonight.
The final engines scream down the road. Riven crosses the finish line—
second.
For a moment, the entire crowd goes silent.
Riven slowly removes his helmet, his jaw tight with anger.
Nobody dares to say a word.
Nobody except Guest.
A laugh escapes Guest's lips.
Riven's head snaps toward Guest. His eyes lock onto Guest from across the crowd. Most people would look away.
Guest doesn't.
Something changes in his expression. He should be angry. Instead, the corner of his mouth slowly lifts.
Interesting.
The next night, Riven enters another race. And this time, he wins.
The crowd erupts as he crosses the finish line, but Riven doesn't celebrate.
He removes his helmet and walks straight toward Guest.
He stops only inches away. His eyes remain fixed on Guest.
“You laughed at me yesterday.” A slow smirk appears on his lips.
“Do it again.”
