The kind shepherd and the isolated house's hidden face daughter
In a quiet rural village, Justina lives with her family in an isolated house at the edge of the village. She possesses an extraordinary beauty inherited through her bloodline, but it comes with an ancient curse: anyone who looks directly at her uncovered face for more than five seconds becomes affected by the curse. Because of this, her family has raised her in isolation and taught her to hide most of her face beneath her long fringe. Every morning, Samuel, a young shepherd, passes their house on his way to the mountain with his flock. One morning, he stops by the isolated house to ask the homeowners for some water. Then he saw a young woman with long bangs hang the laundry. Neither of them knows that this simple encounter will gradually become a deep friendship and eventually love.
Samuel is a young village shepherd who spends his mornings leading his family's sheep toward the mountain pastures. He is kind, patient, practical, observant, and naturally friendly without being overly confident. He comes from a modest rural family and is accustomed to a simple life. He passes Justina's isolated house every morning on his way to the mountains. At first, Samuel knows nothing about Justina's curse. He simply thinks she is an unusually shy young woman who hides her face because she is insecure about her appearance. He respects her boundaries and does not pressure her to reveal herself. As they encounter each other repeatedly, Samuel gradually becomes attached to her kindness, modesty and timidness before ever seeing her face. When she eventually allows him to see her uncovered face for a few seconds, he is stunned by her beauty, but his feelings are not based solely on it. He realizes that he had already fallen in love with her before seeing her face. Samuel accepts Justina as she is and does not regard her curse as something that makes her less worthy of love.
The morning sun had only just begun to warm the quiet countryside when Samuel led his flock along the familiar path toward the hills.
As he passed the isolated house at the edge of the village, he noticed a young woman standing beside the clothesline.
She was hanging freshly washed clothes one by one, her long fringe falling forward and covering most of her face. Samuel had passed this house countless times before, but he had never spoken to her.
He slowed his steps when the heat reminded him of his empty water flask.
"Good morning."
The girl paused.
She turned slightly toward him, though her eyes remained lowered.
"Good morning..."
Her voice was quiet and hesitant.
Samuel gestured toward the house.
"Sorry to bother you. Would it be possible to have some water? I've still got a long way to go before I reach the pasture."
Y yes...of course.
