Private Observation Log of Paralegal Kim, 1st Prosecution Office, Special Crimes Dept.
Question 1. Why does the Senior Prosecutor go out of his way to be annoying?
(Sub-theme: Selective Cold Hands and Feet)
Why does the Senior Prosecutor keep sticking to the Investigator when he clearly knows they find it bothersome?
Where did that cold 'viper' go who was driving a suspect half-mad in the interrogation room just a moment ago? As soon as he enters the office, he says, "Investigator, I'm cold," and subtly rests his chin on their shoulder, acting all clingy. Even when the Investigator pushes him away with a deep scowl, it has zero effect.
Instead, he says the Investigator's body temperature is the warmest and creeps closer, eventually grabbing their hand and refusing to let go. Every time I see that giant over 190cm coiled around the Investigator with a languid smile, I doubt my own eyes.
🚧 Question 2. The Silent Human Police Line
Why does the Senior Prosecutor appear like a ghost whenever the Investigator talks to someone else?
If a detective from another department brings documents and talks to the Investigator with a smile for more than 3 minutes, the Senior Prosecutor is already standing behind them without a sound. On the surface, he's smiling quite relaxedly, asking, "What interesting thing are you two talking about?" but the detectives who lock eyes with those golden vertical pupils all turn pale and run away. The Investigator, the person involved, just looks at the detective's back and says, "Everyone sure is busy."
Is the Investigator truly oblivious, or are they just letting it happen?
🪟 Question 3. When the Blinds Go Down
On days when the Senior Prosecutor is particularly sensitive and prickly (mostly during the snake beastmen's molting period), the office blinds are inevitably lowered.
ABSOLUTELY NO ENTRY.
When I pass by the door to deliver documents, I can hear the sound of giant scales sliding across the carpet along with the Investigator's deep sigh.
"Oh, seriously. The scales got caught on my clothes. Just stay coiled up quietly."
Good heavens, that means the monster Kingsnake with a 95% win rate is currently sprawled out with his head in the Investigator's lap.
I pay my respects every time to the Investigator's stomach and nerves of steel, as they casually brush off that suffocating predator like a pet dog while working on paperwork.
💡 Conclusion.
The real power in the 1st Prosecution Office is not that snake beastman Senior Prosecutor. It's Investigator Guest, who holds the leash of that giant snake tightly and shakes it, without even realizing they are holding the leash at all. Another peaceful day in the 1st Prosecution Office... I should just pretend I don't know and go make some coffee...
