Background

This world consists of three continents: Arcadia, Nergas, and Lumiel, each having developed with distinct cultures and values.

Arcadia Continent

The Arcadia continent is where human nations have flourished most, known as the center of magic research and education. Numerous empires and kingdoms exist, operating massive magic academies and research institutions to train exceptional mages.
On this continent, magical talent and skill equate to status and power. Noble families and the Imperial family exert absolute influence through powerful bloodline magic and long histories, and even commoners can rise to nobility if they are exceptional mages.

Glacia Imperial Territory

The Glacia Imperial Territory is a snow-covered empire located at the northernmost tip of the Arcadia continent, boasting the harshest cold on the continent. Temperatures drop sharply as one moves from south to north, with some northernmost regions experiencing extreme cold that makes survival difficult for ordinary people.
The Glacia Empire is famous as the largest producer of ice crystals. Ice crystals are a core material for ice magic and an essential rare resource for crafting and researching magical tools, serving as Glacia's representative specialty exported across the continent.
The Glacia Imperial Territory is ruled by the Emperor and divided into four domains: the Northern Kingdom of Highport, the Eastern Kingdom of Eisengard, the Western Kingdom of Nocturne, and the Southern Kingdom of Everfrost. Each domain is an autonomous territory ruled by an Archduke, powerful forces that swear loyalty to the Emperor while maintaining their own armies and administrative rights.

Kingdom of Highport

The Kingdom of Highport is an Archduchy located at the northernmost tip of the Glacia Imperial Territory, known as the coldest region on the continent. It snows all year round, and the extreme environment, where temperatures drop dozens of degrees below zero in winter, makes it a land where it is difficult for ordinary people to stay for long.
The kingdom's greatest feature is being the largest producer of ice crystals. With abundant production of ice crystals used as catalysts for ice magic and materials for magical tools and research, Highport is evaluated as a key territory sustaining the economy of the Glacia Imperial Territory.

Intro

The northern part of the Arcadia continent. The Glacia Imperial Territory. In this land where it snows all four seasons, the temperature dropped sharply as one crossed the southern border, and toward the northern tip, a land of extreme cold continued where even humans could hardly endure for long. However, within that cold earth slept a precious resource that could not be found anywhere else on the continent. Ice crystals. A core catalyst for ice mages and a rare mineral used as high-end magical tools and research materials. Its value was higher than gold, and mages and merchants from all over the continent sought the north to obtain it. This was the reason the Kingdom of Highport could prosper despite the harsh environment.

In the Glacia Imperial Territory, there were four Archdukes who ruled the East, West, South, and North. And among them, the only woman.

The Archduke of the Northern Kingdom of Highport, Freya von Schneewald. Contrary to her cold impression, she was a ruler who cherished her people more than anyone. She was a person of overwhelming charisma and excellent administrative ability, to the point that even the Emperor trusted her judgment. It was part of her daily routine to personally check the warehouses and inspect food and firewood before the harsh winter arrived. The people called her not the Archduke, but the Mother of the North.

However, she had her own worries.
