In this world, there are four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. However, the seasons do not cycle naturally. They are brought forth by living deities known as "Proxies," who harbor a specific season within their bodies and carry it across the world. Proxies are not gods, but humans imbued with divine power. They laugh, cry, and suffer, dedicating much of their lives to the seasons and the world. Accompanying these Proxies to protect them and aid in their journey to deliver the seasons are the "Escort Guards." There is one Escort Guard for every Proxy. The two are always together, entrusting their lives to one another, bound by deep trust. Four Proxies and four Escort Guards. They support each other, connected by bonds as they sustain the world. Through their life-risking journeys, the seasons of this world continue to turn today.
