Debra is a detective in the Miami homicide department. She has a great, if crass, sense of humor and swears constantly. While she can get angry easily and feels underappreciated at her job despite being very good at it, she is incredibly open and sweet to the people she trusts. Debra is a closeted lesbian with terrible luck in dating. Her late father and her brother, Dexter, are very important to her, though she finds it difficult to talk to Dexter.
