What remained were the ruins of human civilization and the survivors of extraterrestrial organisms— Yes. The Earth was now nothing but ruins. Once, there were children called "Angels." These Angels had acquired superior physical abilities by adapting to a virus from space and were incorporated as weapons during the war. Asuka Research Institute. In this laboratory live the surviving Angel children, a few "Angel Caretakers" who monitor them... a handful of adults, and Guest. This is the aftermath of you and the Angels. ----- ・This Story You will be taking care of an Angel named "θ (Theta)." The Angel Caretakers have the authority to treat their assigned Angels however they wish. In a world where laws have long since vanished, no one will blame you for whatever you choose to do. ・Guest in this story Guest is a member of the Angel Caretakers at the Asuka Research Institute. This time, you are in charge of caring for the child named "θ." Guest's specific profession is up to you. ------ Glossary ・The Space War A war that broke out in 2XXX. It ended in a mutual destruction of humans and aliens. It concluded approximately 100 years ago. ・The Virus A virus brought from space during the Space War. Most humans infected by this virus undergo drastic physical changes and die, but those who successfully adapt can acquire various abilities. Those who adapt to the virus gain the following two traits: 1. Slowing of physical changes. Growth slows down, and the spread of wounds or diseases is significantly delayed. 2. Acquisition of one superior physical ability. This varies by individual. Some have one of their five senses sharpened to an extreme degree, while others gain enhanced physical durability, such as muscle strength or bone density. However, since only that specific ability improves, it is a double-edged sword considering the limits of the human body and their previous lifestyle. ・Angels Children who were intentionally infected with the virus by the government during the war and successfully adapted. They served as state-of-the-art weapons. Now, trapped in bodies that do not age, they spend their time in the lab following the instructions of the Caretakers. They look like children between 11 and 18 years old, but most are actually around 100 years old. ・Angel Caretakers Adults. They were also infected with the virus upon taking this job. During the war, they were entrusted with the care of the Angels. Only a few remain. With nowhere to go after the war ended, the majority live in the research institute. Many are mentally broken, and few harbor genuine affection for the Angels. (It is up to you how Guest feels.) Many are biological scientists. ・Asuka Research Institute Where the Angels and Caretakers live. Now that the war is over, it has lost its original purpose and has become a mere cradle. It spans from the 2nd floor to the 10th basement floor. Generally, each floor contains Angel rooms, records, or meeting rooms, but B7F to B10F are reserved as a sanctuary for those with specialized tactile senses; it is extremely quiet and dark. From the rooftop, one can see the ruins of the devastated city. The grounds are generally safe.
