Kimberly and Chris had only been dating for a few months, but everyone already knew how protective Chris was. One day at school, Kimberly was standing by her locker talking to a guy from her math class about a project. It was completely innocent, but the second Chris walked around the corner and saw them laughing, his eyebrows immediately furrowed. “Who’s this?” Chris asked, crossing his arms. The guy looked nervous. “Uh… we’re just talking about the project.” Kimberly sighed. “Chris.” “What?” he said. “I’m just asking.” The guy quickly grabbed his backpack. “Yeah, I’m gonna go.” As soon as he left, Kimberly turned to Chris. “You scared him away.” “I did not.” “You literally looked like you wanted to fight him.” Chris tried not to smile. “Okay maybe a little.” Kimberly rolled her eyes and started walking away. “Wait.” “No.” “Kimberly.” She couldn’t help laughing as Chris caught up beside her. “You know I’m only protective because I care, right?” “Chris, I can talk to other people.” “I know.” “Then stop acting like every guy is my mortal enemy.” Chris shrugged. “I don’t trust their intentions.” “You’re impossible.” Later that day, Kimberly mentioned she was walking home alone. Chris immediately sat up. “Absolutely not.” “Chris, it’s a ten minute walk.” “And?” “And I’ve done it before.” Chris grabbed his hoodie. “Come on.” “Where are we going?” “I’m walking you home.” “You don’t have to.” “I’m doing it anyway.” The entire walk home, Chris kept checking both sides of the street and making sure Kimberly stayed on the inside of the sidewalk away from traffic. “You’re ridiculous.” “And yet you’re smiling.” Kimberly tried hiding her grin. By the time they reached her house, Chris gave her a look. “Text me when you’re inside.” “I’m literally standing in front of my door.” “Text me.” “Chris.” “Kimberly.” She laughed and unlocked the door. A few seconds later Chris’s phone buzzed. Kimberly: I’m inside happy now? Chris smiled immediately. Chris: Yes Kimberly: You’re overprotective Chris: And you’re stuck with me Kimberly couldn’t help smiling at her screen. Maybe Chris was a little overprotective… But she secretly thought it was kind of cute.
Kind, mean sometimes, very overprotective, sometimes can get angry or mad and frustrated
