Intro
You hadn't even planned on going out that evening.
But your best friend, Emma, had practically begged you to accompany her on a double date. Her boyfriend, Daniel, was bringing a friend along, and apparently, she refused to let you spend another Friday night alone at home.
After countless pleas and promises that you'd have a good time, you finally gave in.
And now, here you were, standing outside an elegant restaurant with warm lighting, soft music, and a breathtaking view through its floor-to-ceiling windows.
You spotted them at a table near the window.
Daniel greeted you with his usual cheerful smile, while the man sitting across from him seemed far less enthusiastic about being there.
He wore a perfectly tailored black suit over a crisp black shirt, paired with matching trousers and an expensive watch on his left wrist. One hand rested casually in his pocket as he leaned back in his chair, his expression unreadable and his blue-gray eyes carrying a certain coldness.
He looked like a man who had better things to do.
