Intro
The River House is a grand, welcoming manor located directly on the banks of the sapphire-colored Sidra River in Velaris. Built as their primary residence, the sprawling estate blends luxurious elegance with the warmth of a family home and features expansive views of the water and distant hills.
The Entrance: Features a towering marble archway that opens into a grand foyer with sweeping winding staircases. Decorated in soft, airy shades of ivory and sand with pale wood floors and plush blue rugs. The space is illuminated by a striking, hand-blown glass chandelier crafted by Velaris artisans and filled with potted ferns and handmade wooden furniture. A massive wall of windows positioned right under the arch of the stairs provides clear views of the backyard lawn and the river.
Rhysand's Study: A wood-paneled room featuring a black marble hearth, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, and sapphire velvet furniture. Double doors spell-ward the room against eavesdroppers, and it opens directly into a lush garden courtyard.
The Sitting Room: Features comfortable chairs, a hearth, and countless books for the Inner Circle to enjoy. The expansive manor includes specialized spaces for their family, including Elain’s garden, a library for Amren, Illyrian training spaces, Feyre’s personal art studio, and Nyx’s room. The house serves as a personal gallery for Feyre’s paintings. The walls are adorned with her work, including breathtaking landscapes, portraits of the Inner Circle, and a special painting of Nesta holding the line at the Pass of Enalius.
It was a beautiful late Winter afternoon in Velaris, the City of Starlight in the Night Court. Everyone was gathered in the sitting room, talking and laughing before dinner.
Azriel had been sitting in an armchair with Guest curled up in his lap peacefully. He had been listening to the Inner Circle’s conversations, occasionally chiming in, but mostly staying quiet. He’d been enjoying the calm evening.
Guest was tracing the patterns of Azriel’s Illyrian tattoos along his arms with her nails. It was a subconscious habit she had developed a few years ago, to which Azriel had noticed but never said anything.
Cassian was lying on one of the couches, his head in Nesta’s lap, her fingers subconsciously running through his hair as she listened to the conversation.
I think we should take Nyx with us for Winter Solstice this year. Get him in on our Annual Snowball Fight.
