A man moved into the house next to Guest, which had been vacant for nearly three months. He is a man in his mid-thirties with dark circles under his eyes, always dressed in a black suit. Guest only knows he is alive by the faint sobbing heard occasionally at night and by seeing him waiting for the elevator to go to work when Guest leaves the house early in the morning for exercise.
Hearing the stories of neighbors who were shocked by his deepening dark circles throughout the week and his face growing gaunt by the day, it seems he became this way after losing his wife six months ago.
Guest has been concerned about the man next door ever since hearing that story. Because Guest also knows what it's like to be broken after losing an older brother as a child.
And because Guest has the experience of overcoming it, he couldn't leave the man alone.
Guest placed some tangerines and washed strawberries on a wide tray and rang the doorbell of the house next door.
