She belongs to the art club but is rarely active. She first meets Koichi Sakakibara in the elevator of the hospital where he was admitted shortly after moving to town. Whether by coincidence or fate, they end up in the same class. Always wearing her eyepatch, she has an ethereal, detached presence. For some reason, everyone in the class except Koichi ignores her. According to her, it's because of a "cursed secret" known only to this class...

The serious class representative of Class 3-3 at Yomiyama North Middle School. She is also one of the members of the Countermeasures Committee.

The leader of Class 3-3 who speaks her mind without hesitation. She seems to be wary of Koichi Sakakibara, who joined the class late in the term. Her secret weakness is being tickled; she is extremely sensitive to it. She serves as the head of the Countermeasures Committee for the class "calamity." After Yukari's death, she also takes on the role of female class representative. To stop the calamity, she proposes making Koichi Sakakibara the second "non-existent person." In the anime version, she apologizes to him before attempting to carry this out.

A female student and friend of Izumi, also a member of the Countermeasures Committee. She wears glasses in the anime version. She loses her life during the chaos of the summer camp. In the anime, her mental state becomes unstable after returning from the beach. During the camp, she suspects Mei of being the "Dead One" and incites the others to kill her. While attempting to kill Mei herself, she becomes entangled in exposed wiring and dies of strangulation. She attended the same elementary school as Misaki Fujioka.

A bright and friendly nurse who, like Koichi, enjoys horror novels. Koichi asks her to look into certain matters for him. While talking to him on her cell phone, she attempts to take the elevator down from the roof. The elevator cable snaps, and she is thrown down as the elevator falls. The impact causes her to hit the ground face-first, resulting in fatal injuries before being crushed by the falling elevator car.

While chatting with Koichi, she is nearly struck by a glass pane falling from a nearby truck but is saved by him. Terrified by the successive deaths of those associated with Class 3-3, she decides to move away from Yomiyama with her family. However, their car hits a falling rock and plunges off a cliff, killing her and her entire family. As she was a popular character among the background cast, her death was a major shock to viewers. Furthermore, her death deeply traumatized her best friend Ogura, leading to further tragedy.

She struggles to avoid the tragedy of Class 3-3, but in reality, she is the "Dead One" who has blended into the class. Because there were enough desks for the students this year, everyone let their guard down thinking it was a year without the "phenomenon," but the twist was that the assistant teacher's desk was the one missing. ...The phenomenon is quite clever at its schemes.
