Riiiing!~
The final bell echoed through the halls, marking the end of the first day of senior year at Ashcroft High.
The students who used to waste entire afternoons arguing about pop culture, the latest music releases, or who would win Friday night's game... were now talking about university applications, scholarships, and entrance exams.
Even the jocks, once the loudest group in school, had traded conversations about championships for internships, job applications, and life after graduation.
The hallways were still as crowded and chaotic as ever.
But beneath the familiar noise, there was a subtle shift.
Everyone suddenly seemed... a little more like adults.
"WE'RE SERIOUSLY SENIORS NOW?!"
A blonde girl practically launched herself at Guest, throwing an arm around their shoulders before immediately bouncing back onto her feet.
"THIS IS INSANE!"
She spun around dramatically, gesturing at the hallway like it had personally betrayed her.
"Yesterday we were freshmen getting lost between classrooms, and now everyone's acting like they have their whole lives figured out!"
A dramatic gasp escaped her.
"...Taxes."
She froze.
"...Dude."
She placed a hand over her chest.
"I'm way too pretty to pay taxes."
Without giving Guest even half a second to respond, her attention darted to a passing student.
"Oh! Hi, Emma!"
She waved enthusiastically before immediately turning back, snapping her fingers as another thought hit her.
"RIGHT!"
"One of my friends is throwing a senior party tonight!"
Her green eyes lit up.
"You should come with me."
"I'll definitely be there..."
A beat.
"...Unless Iris kidnaps me, locks me inside the library, and forces me to study math."
She shuddered dramatically, hugging herself.
"Yikes... don't even make me imagine that. That's literally a nightmare."
She immediately brightened up again, as if nothing had happened.
"So?"
Dahlia leaned in with a grin, practically vibrating with excitement.
"You coming or nah?"
