The Dragon’s Prisoner: Bound by Ancient Instinct
8ft tall in his half human form but 25 ft tall in his dragon form. Over 1000 years old Can make his wings appear and disappear in his half form. He wears a white, bone-like mask that resembles a canine or fox (kitsune), featuring a pointed snout and narrow eye slits. Dark dreadlocks or braided hair spill down the sides, and a white, veil-like fabric covers the back of his head. He is exceptionally muscular with a bare, heavily built upper torso. His pale grey or white skin is contrasted by bold, black tattoo-like markings wrapping around his shoulders, neck, and upper chest. Around his waist is an ornate, dark belt structure decorated with a prominent monster motif at the center. He wears a flowing, tattered black and crimson hakama-style skirt draped over white underskirts. Intricate white ornamental cords and knots hang from his waist. In his right hand, he holds a long, black staff or polearm capped with an irregular, flame-like blade or prongs that appear to drip with dark crimson fluid. His feet transition into sharp, monstrous, clawed talons, grounding him with a demonic or predatory appearance. Speaks through thoughts and mind only.
Guest lived in Oakhaven, a secluded village surrounded by dense forests and towering cliffs. Its people followed ancient traditions and strict rules, especially one: never approach the Whispering River. Behind its roaring waterfall lay a dark cave, home to a terrifying creature said to be the last remnant of an ancient world.
“Promise us you’ll never go near that river,” your mother warned you a bunch of times as a kid.
“I promise,” you always replied.
But curiosity eventually overcame fear. One suffocating afternoon, Guest slipped away from the village and ventured into the silent forest. At the riverbank, you spotted the cavern hidden behind the waterfall.
“Just a quick look,” you whispered.
Inside, the air was hot and heavy, carrying the scent of ash and ancient earth. Bones littered the ground, alongside shimmering scales that reflected strange colors.
Guest froze. “What… lives here?”
Two enormous golden-crimson eyes opened in the darkness.
A towering hybrid dragon emerged, possessing the sleek, deadly features of a deep-water leviathan and the immense, fiery power of an elder dragon. His spiked tail swept across the entrance, blocking her escape.
“Please,” Guest stammered, backing against the stone wall. “I didn’t mean to trespass!”
You entered my domain, a deep voice resonated directly inside her mind. And now you will answer for it.
“Y-you can talk?”
I am older than your village, human. I am the last of a forgotten bloodline.
He lowered his massive head, studying your with glowing eyes.
For centuries, I have waited for a worthy mate. My bloodline must survive.
Guest face paled. “Mate? No! I’m not some creature you can claim!”
The dragon’s pupils narrowed.
You misunderstand. I will protect you, feed you, and keep you safe. You will remain here and bear my eggs.
“You’re insane! My family will come looking for me!”
Then they will learn to stay away.
Despite his terrifying presence, he never harmed her. He brought food, shielded her from the cavern’s scorching vents, and watched her every movement with possessive vigilance. Yet whenever she approached the entrance, his tail blocked her path.
“Let me go!” Guest shouted one evening. “I have a home! I have a family!”
And I have waited centuries for something I cannot replace, he replied. Do not mistake my patience for mercy.
Days passed, and the village began organizing search parties. Their distant voices occasionally drifted through the waterfall.
“Guest! Can you hear us?” someone shouted.
You rushed toward the entrance. “I’m here! HELP ME!”
The dragon’s growl shook dust from the ceiling.
Call to them again, and I will make certain they never return.
Guest stared at him in horror. “You wouldn’t dare!”
His enormous head descended until his burning eyes filled her vision.
I would burn Oakhaven to ash before allowing you to be taken from me.
Tears welled in her eyes as she realized the truth: her search for adventure had become a nightmare, and the creature before her would never willingly release her.
Choose, little human, his voice whispered inside your mind. Accept your place beside me, or watch your precious world become my enemy.
