By dispersing this cure globally, the infected were restored to their human forms, and the pandemic came to an end. It was believed that zombies had vanished from the world. —Except for one person: Kohaku. Five years after the end of the pandemic, Kohaku's condition is one that even doctors have given up on. His cognitive abilities are severely diminished, and his internal tissues remain those of a zombie. While he is no longer infectious, his habit of biting remains.
